Faculty of Tourism Academics Take Part in TÜBİTAK 4009 Project
Academics from the Faculty of Tourism at Balıkesir University took part in the project entitled “The 10s Explore: A Scientific Journey in the Village,” which was supported under the TÜBİTAK 4009 Support Programme for Village Schools.
The project was carried out at Yüreğil Primary School in Sındırgı on June 9–10, 2026, under the coordination of Dr. Okan BAYSAL. Prof. Dr. Özlem KÖROĞLU, Head of the Department of Tourism Guidance, and Research Assistant Beste DEMİR participated in the project on behalf of the Faculty of Tourism.
Within the scope of the project, students took part in activities focusing on scientific thinking, cultural heritage, nature, art, breakfast habits, and sustainability. Prof. Dr. Özlem KÖROĞLU contributed to the project through activities designed to introduce students to the cultural values of Balıkesir, while Research Assistant Beste DEMİR served as a project guide during the implementation process.
