A Panel on “The Gallipoli Land Battles on the Occasion of the 110th Anniversary” Was Held
On April 22, 2025, the panel titled “The Gallipoli Land Battles on the Occasion of the 110th Anniversary” was organized in collaboration with the Faculty of Tourism, Faculty of Arts and Sciences, Faculty of Fine Arts, the Ottoman Heritage Research and Application Center, and the Atatürk’s Principles and History of Turkish Revolution Research and Application Center.
Within the scope of the panel, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mustafa Öğe, faculty member of the Department of History at the Faculty of Arts and Sciences and Director of the Atatürk’s Principles and History of Turkish Revolution Research and Application Center, and Cihan Müşterioğlu, Member of the Board of Directors of the Çanakkale Regional Tourist Guides Chamber and a professional tourist guide, participated as panelists. The session was moderated by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Serap Sunay, faculty member of the Department of History at the Faculty of Arts and Sciences and Director of the Ottoman Heritage Research and Application Center.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Öğe delivered a presentation titled “Mehmetçik from the Anzacs’ Perspective in the Gallipoli Battles”, followed by Mr. Müşterioğlu’s talk on “The Gallipoli Front: Strategic and Historical Perspective.”
The panel was attended by Prof. Dr. Ahmet Köroğlu, Dean of the Faculty of Tourism, as well as faculty members and students. Following the panel, participants visited the exhibition “Landscapes” prepared by the Faculty of Fine Arts.
