A Seminar on “The National Struggle in Balıkesir” Was Held

On April 29, 2025, as part of the course “Culture and Tourism in Balıkesir,” a guest speaker was invited to broaden students’ perspectives on the city of Balıkesir and to promote the city. The seminar titled “The National Struggle in Balıkesir” was delivered by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Serap Sunay, faculty member of the Department of History at the Faculty of Arts and Sciences and Director of the Ottoman Heritage Research and Application Center.

The seminar, organized within the scope of the course “Culture and Tourism in Balıkesir” taught by Dr. Hasret Ulusoy Mutlu, faculty member of the Department of Tourism Guidance, provided valuable insights into the city’s history and contributed to students’ understanding of Balıkesir’s historical significance.

The event concluded with the presentation of a certificate of appreciation to the invited speaker.
