A Talk on Career in Tourism Was Held
As part of Tourism Week, Balıkesir University Tourism Research and Application Center organized an event titled “A Talk on Career in Tourism.”
The event, held on April 17, 2023, featured guest speakers including Volkan KUŞ, Coordinator of Ramada By Wyndham Tekirdağ Hotel and Ramada By Wyndham Budapest Hotel; Gülbahar KESERGİL, Manager of Ramada By Wyndham Tekirdağ Hotel; Yeşim ÇETİN, Human Resources Officer; Ramazan KOPARAL, Regional Guide Coordinator for the Aegean Region at JollyTur; and Selim FAZLIOĞLU, Regional Guide Coordinator for the Mediterranean Region at JollyTur.
The session was moderated by Assoc. Prof. Gülay ÖZDEMİR YILMAZ, Director of the Tourism Research and Application Center, and was opened with a speech by Balıkesir University Vice-Rector Prof. Cevdet AVCIKURT. Vice-Rector Prof. Murat DOĞDUBAY, Dean of the Faculty of Tourism Prof. Ahmet KÖROĞLU, as well as faculty members and students of the Faculty of Tourism also attended the event.
During the event, students were provided with information about career paths, opportunities, challenges, and the qualifications required in the tourism sector’s two main areas: hospitality and travel management.
