Academic Visit and Cooperation Activities at Osh State University, Kyrgyzstan

Within the scope of the International Academic Cooperation Protocol signed between Balıkesir University and Osh State University in Kyrgyzstan, a comprehensive visit programme was carried out between April 20 and 26, 2026, with the aim of strengthening academic relations. As part of the programme, Associate Professor Cemali Buzlukçu, Assistant Professor Sultan Nazmiye Kılıç, and Assistant Professor Selin İlsay from Balıkesir University visited Osh State University.

During the visit, opportunities for education, scientific research, and inter-institutional cooperation in the field of tourism were discussed. In particular, views were exchanged on developing joint projects, increasing student and academic staff exchange programmes, and encouraging interdisciplinary studies. Opportunities to strengthen the cultural and social dimensions of academic cooperation were also evaluated.

As part of the programme, informative presentations were delivered by our academics to the students of the Faculty of Tourism at Osh State University. Comprehensive information was shared on the academic structure of Balıkesir University, the Faculty of Tourism, educational opportunities for international students, the gastronomic richness of Balıkesir, and elements of intangible cultural heritage. The students showed considerable interest in the presentations and followed the programme attentively.

During the same visit, participation was also provided in the World Cultures Festival organised by Osh State University. Through this event, which introduced different cultures, contributions were made to intercultural interaction and promotional activities.

This visit contributed to the development of sustainable and multidimensional cooperation between the two universities.
