Balikesir University Faculty of Tourism Participated in the EMITT Fair
As one of the well-established units of Balikesir University, the Faculty of Tourism (BTİOYO) participated in the East Mediterranean International Tourism and Travel Exhibition (EMITT), held at the Istanbul TÜYAP Fairground between January 31 and February 2, 2020. At the fair, which attracted great interest and brought together many domestic and international companies from 80 countries, BTİOYO was represented by a large group of academic staff and students, including Faculty Dean Prof. Cevdet AVCIKURT, Vice Deans Prof. Ahmet KÖROĞLU and Assoc. Prof. Sebahattin KARAMAN, as well as Prof. Necdet HACIOĞLU, Prof. Yusuf AYMANKUY, and Prof. Barış ERDEM.
This year, BTİOYO, which participated with a stand sponsored by alumnus Bülent MULCAR and the EVTEKS family, took its place both at its own stand and at the Balıkesir Metropolitan Municipality stand, meeting many alumni and academic staff who are prominent figures in the sector. Being the only educational institution to have its own stand at EMITT since 2003, BTİOYO once again provided its students and academic staff with the opportunity to closely follow the latest developments in tourism. Dean Prof. Cevdet Avcıkurt added that this year, in addition to representing Balikesir University, they also contributed to the promotion of Balıkesir, a province with significant tourism potential, at EMITT, which is recognized as the largest tourism fair in Turkey and the fifth largest in the world.
