The 17th Employment and Career Day Event Was Held
BAUN Faculty of Tourism, a Half-Century-Strong Brand in Tourism Education, Connects with the Sector at Its 17th Career Meeting
Balıkesir University (BAUN) Faculty of Tourism continues to bring its deep-rooted 50-year experience in tourism education together with the sector. As one of Türkiye’s first and pioneering higher education institutions in the field of tourism, the BAUN Faculty of Tourism hosted its 17th Employment and Career Day, bringing its students together with leading representatives of the tourism industry. Nearly 300 sector representatives from around 100 companies operating in tourism and related fields attended the event.
The opening ceremony was attended by Balıkesir Governor İsmail Ustaoğlu; Balıkesir University Rector Prof. Dr. Yücel Oğurlu; Vice Rectors Prof. Dr. Cevdet Avcıkurt, Prof. Dr. Murat Doğdubay, and Prof. Dr. Fatih Satıl; and Dean of the Faculty of Tourism Prof. Dr. Ahmet Köroğlu, along with members of the University Senate. Numerous academics and students also took part in the programme. Following the opening ceremony, Governor İsmail Ustaoğlu and Rector Oğurlu visited the company stands and received information from participating representatives.
Held traditionally for the past 17 years, the event enables students to communicate directly with sector professionals, shape their career plans, and explore internship and employment opportunities. Representatives of companies from various areas of the tourism sector held one-to-one meetings with students, shared industry expectations, and guided prospective tourism professionals in their career journeys.
