The First Meeting of the Balıkesir Gulf Culinary Destinations Project Was Held

Within the scope of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism’s declaration of 2020 as the “Year of Turkish Cuisine,” the first meeting of the “Balıkesir Gulf Culinary Destinations Project,” which aims to identify Balıkesir’s local delicacies, was held on December 24, 2019, hosted by Balikesir University Faculty of Tourism. The meeting was attended by Mustafa ÇALTI, Provincial Director of Culture and Tourism; Prof. Cevdet AVCIKURT, Dean of the Faculty of Tourism; Prof. Düriye BOZOK, Head of the Department of Gastronomy and Culinary Arts; Ahmet İNAN, Head of the Metropolitan Municipality Department of Social Affairs; and Hasan YILDIZ, President of the Balıkesir Restaurateurs’ Association, along with project stakeholders including sector representatives, municipal representatives, and faculty members of the Department of Gastronomy and Culinary Arts.
